We at Astrokidz Inc. believe that child's play is more about exploring, learning, creating and inspiring which in turn develops a whole child: physically, emotionally, cognitively and socially. Play builds resilience in a child and can improve their communication, social interactions and emotional literacy. Play helps to alleviate some of the stresses of children living in poverty and provides an opportunity for all children to enjoy and learn together. Despite the recognized benefits of children’s play, it is increasingly under threat – a worrying fact that the United Nations highlighted in early 2013. Children’s play is under threat because of increasing urbanization, the increasing stress of family life and changes to the educational system. Play and recreation are essential to children’s health & well-being. They promote the development of creativity, imagination, self-confidence, physical, social cognitive and emotional strength and skills. Most of the children don’t get time for play, as they are busy throughout the day with studies, sports, music, dance and other activities.
